Perspectives Counseling Center in New York

Do others think you have it all together but on the inside you are struggling?

Many people come to me for therapy feeling anxious, stressed, burned out, or frustrated that the strategies they've always relied on no longer seem to work.

As your therapist, I provide a space where you can openly talk about you and what is bothering you.  Together we will explore your thoughts and feeling and  what has been weighing on you and why. Then, you will develop effective strategies for overcoming your struggles so you can feel like you are functioning as your best self again--in both your professional life and your personal life.

Hi, I’m Pamela Price-Lerner, LCSW-R

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious or disconnected, in life or in your relationship,  you don’t have to figure it out alone.

With over 30 years of experience, I help individuals and couples work through stress, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, and major life transitions.

My approach is very relational (meaning we can talk openly and you can just show up as yourself), collaborative (we work together), practical, and tailored to your needs. I draw from many different types of therapy like EMDR (a type of therapy that doesn't require talking about every trauma detail), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT where we look at your thoughts and your actions), the Gottman Method (a type of couples therapy), ACT ( learning to accept what is) and mindfulness to create a plan that works for you, whether that’s weekly sessions or a focused therapy intensive.  After pbeing a therapist for many years, I often use a mix of the therapy styles to best help you.

I want you to feel heard and supported while exploring why you are feeling stuck, anxious, overwhelmed or disconnected.

My goal is to help you identify and strengthen what’s working for you in your life, change what’s not.

My Passion Is Helping Others Feel Better

My path to becoming a therapist began long before I started formal education. I've always had a knack for connecting with people, offering them a listening ear and a safe place to share their thoughts, struggles and seek advice. This natural ability to encourage deep, meaningful conversations guided me toward a career in therapy.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The State University of New York at Albany, with a minor in Business Administration. After working in business management for several years, I returned to my passion of helping others and furthered my education with a Master's in Social Work from Adelphi University. I love to learn about my clients' life experiences and what makes them, them.  Having a deep understanding of who my clients are, helps me to help them as best as I can.

I will listen to you and support you through whatever your current life challenges are. I will help you make changes that lead you to be less stressed or anxious and to be happier and more satisfied in your personal life, your relationships and in your professional life.

In 1997, I founded Perspectives Counseling Center, where for over 30 years, I've blended my skills of running a small business with my love of helping people.

My approach to therapy is "person-centered" meaning you are my focus.  I am with you every step of the way and everything we do in your therapy is tailored to your individual needs.
